Long-distance moves, the length of the country

Leaving London for elsewhere in the UK — the North, the coast, Scotland or Wales? A long-distance move only works if it stays together, so one team takes it the whole way, with no hand-offs between the old door and the new one.

One move, one team, the whole way

The thing that goes wrong with long-distance moves is the hand-off — one firm loads in London, another delivers up North, and your things spend a night in a depot in between. We don’t work like that. The crew that packs and loads your home is the crew that unloads it, so nothing changes hands and nothing gets lost along the way.

We plan the run properly — the motorway network (the M1, M6, M4, M5 and M62), the timing, and where storage fits if your completion dates don’t quite line up at either end. And because it’s all kept together in one plan, you’ve got a single point of contact for the whole journey, not a different number for each leg.

What a long-distance move includes

  • A direct run — no depot hand-offs along the way
  • Packing built for the longer road
  • The motorway route and timing planned in advance
  • Storage at either end if the dates don’t line up
  • One team and one point of contact throughout
  • Part-load options if you’re not filling a full lorry

FAQ

Long-distance moves — common questions

Where does Philco cover?

We’re a national brand, so we cover London and the whole of the UK — north, south, east and west of the city, and out to Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Scotland, Wales and everywhere between. We also run removals from the UK into Europe.

What does "keeping the whole move together" actually mean?

It means one firm and one plan for the parts that usually get scattered — the survey, the packing, the storage, the dates and the updates — with a single point of contact who knows your move. No juggling three companies and hoping they talk to each other.

Can you move us long-distance across the UK?

Yes — long-distance is a big part of what we do. London to the coast, the North, Scotland or Wales, with one team the whole way and no hand-offs, so your things stay with the same crew from your old door to your new one.

Do you do office and commercial moves?

We do — offices, studios and commercial premises across London and the UK, planned around your hours (often out of hours or over a weekend) to keep your downtime short. IT and records handled with care, with storage for anything surplus.

Do you offer storage?

Yes. If there’s a gap between moves or you just need space for a while, we’ll arrange clean, secure storage — a few boxes or a whole home — and can collect, store and re-deliver in a single booking.
